Depicting a kayak and paddle, these skin boats were the workhorse of the Yup'ik peoples once upon a time...providing transportation to hunting and gathering grounds throughout the year.  The single blade paddle provided the power needed when the watercraft was under load.  Paddles were often decorated to show ownership.  May this artwork bring you joy and wonder.
